Birthday Party Supplies, Decors and Favors

birthday-party-suppliesAh birthdays! The one time in the year when your parents let us do whatever we wanted when we were kids and our siblings did not fight with us. Birthdays are an annual thing and maybe that is why it is the most awaited event; people, including me, wait for them so much and expect their friends or families to give them incredible gifts. Now, if there is one thing none of us can bear for long it’s the sad faces and disappointed expressions of our loved ones so what we should di is make sure to give them a party that they would love.

Whether you have to prepare for a large party for your kids or you want to throw a surprise one for them, you need party supplies for that purpose. Some people think that a party cannot be planned without help from a bunch of people but that is not true; you can do it alone because your kids expect it.

Interesting Birthday Party Theme Ideas

First things first, then. You do not want to have a kids party without a theme; Birthday party themes add excitement and fun to the party. You have a variety of options when browsing for the right theme; it varies from girls to boys and should be according to your child’s preferences. Some of the most popular themes are bases on superheroes for boys and barbie themes for girls; the angry birds theme has become very popular because of the game and is good for girls and boys both. You can also base the theme on the latest Disney movies; I particularly like the idea of Frozen with its contrast between Elsa and Anna.

Do-it-yourself Birthday Party Invitations

The first step is making a guest list of your friends and family and your kid’s friends. You can always buy the invitation cards from a stationary shop but it always feels nice to receive hand made invitations because they give off a welcoming vibe. Besides, they are easy to make and cheap. You only need colored papers, markers, scissors, glue and of course an idea. Be sure to prepare the best birthday invitation wording too. And your kids can help out too with decorating the invitations. Do not spend too much effort on them but don’t make them devoid of warmth. There are plenty of them on the internet but mention the theme on the card to prepare the guests beforehand. Image: Flickr

Creative Birthday Party Cakes

For those who have a sweet tooth (I for one have 32 sweet teeth; I’m a desperate sweetaholic) cakes are as important as the party itself. You do not need to buy the cake from a confectionary if it is out of your budget as custom made are expensive. Just switch on your computer, open your favorite search engine and you can find the recipes of all the cakes and their icings; ice cream cake, fudge cake, butter cake, cheese cake etc. Not only that but if you have a theme then you can match the cake with the theme; angry bird cakes, frozen cakes, kung fu panda cakes; just thinking about them makes my mouth water!

Exciting Birthday Party Games

PIÑATA

The food and the cake cutting is fun but the real excitement lies in the games. Birthday games are exceptionally enjoyable. You need some room to play the games because kids tend to be messy. Birthdays cannot be celebrated without a piñata, well technically they can but it would be amazing when it burst and all the sweets blow out for everyone to grab. Pass the parcel is pretty fun too and musical chairs is perhaps the best of all. It would also be nice if there was a special present for the winner, not anything big or costly.

Another great birthday game is balloon sandwich; don’t be misled by the name because it’s actually a race in which a balloon is sandwiched between two kids; it is fun and it brings up the mood of the party. If you have a lot of space like a backyard then a treasure hunt will be excellent; you can make a list of all the things the kids should find and the winner team can get an award. You just have to be creative to make your kid’s party the best!

Birthday Party Favors

The most awaited part of the evening are the party favors. I remember when I was a kid and saw the party favors in a box, my heart would start flying with anticipation. If you have a small budget it does not mean that you cannot have great party favors to give away. You can make a small box or tote bag yourself to hold the stuff and then you can add a small toy, a bookmark which you can make yourself, locket for girls and a CD with a name for boys. You can also add a few balloons and those whistles which have a balloon at the end. And no party favor is complete without loads of sweets! Just don’t worry about the outcome of the party during it, have a blast and you will be fine. Image: Flickr
